enjoying some new music…

Such a beautiful song, such a strangely funny video…kinda incongruous and maudlin. Makes me think of the Irish, but maybe that’s because I’ve been re-reading Ulysses this week. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. You mean the video? Or the song? The video, I guess. Possibly, I haven’t delved into it. What is it a parody of, do you know? If it is, it has to be a parody of something. Just curious. ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. yes, you’re right, the video is a parody of the band members themselves. The guys in the video are actors impersonating the band members. When I watched it I kept thinking that I knew of those guys from other places and so I looked it up and read about the creation of that particular video. The band is just making fun of themselves. All in good fun.

  1. Hauntingly beautiful is right! And so Celtic in a way as you said. I liked the video until the very endโ€ฆbut then, to see instruments destroyed in that way made me cringe. Is that really necessary, I wondered?
By the way, I also just finished Ulysses (from Planet PDF) last month. Very enjoyable. Also, Les Miserables. Whew, so many pages! But worth it. When I got tired eyes, I let Acrobat read it in a funny, masculine, robotic voice while dozing away in my easy chair. But it got some French words and names correct, surprisingly!

    1. LOL I didn’t say Celtic, I said Irish. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Reminds me of some maudlin scenes after Paddy Dignam’s funeral…Simon Daedalus singing soppy Irish songs. BTW help yourself to the audio book version of Ulysses in my library, the narrator brings it to life something wonderful, he doesn’t so much read Ulysses as perform it…with deep understanding and great humor.
